I know exactly what that feels like.

I watched my husband go from being what we thought was a healthy guy to needing double bypass heart surgery overnight. We both wanted to make changes in order to take control of lifestyle choices,feel better and not let our health stand in the way of our day to day life.

I wanted to take control of my lifestyle choices.

Taking Control of Lifestyle Choices

In our minds we had life by the tail at the time. Our daughter was only 8 years old and we had too much living to be done! It was the drive to not be hampered by chronic health conditions that propelled me into a deep dive about adopting the whole food, plant-based lifestyle.

I learned that eating this way has a long list of benefits especially if I wanted better health and more energy to be the healthy person that I envisioned being.

That was in 2013.

It was then that I ditched the SAD (Standard American Diet) and switched to the plant-based lifestyle and never looked back.

Taking Control of My Lifestyle and Diet Change Resulted In:

  • Weight loss
  • Smaller waist circumference
  • Lower amounts of abdominal fat
  • Lower cholesterol, blood sugar and Body Mass Index
  • Glowing skin
  • Stronger, shinier hair
  • More energy
  • Stronger immune system
  • Looking and feeling better than at anytime in my life!

Putting Knowledge to Work for Others

What’s more, I didn’t stop at helping my family adopt a healthy lifestyle. Instead, I put my 30 plus years as a teacher, counselor, administrator and coach to work on helping other women to become better versions of themselves. I went back to school and completed the Cornell University certificate program in Plant-Based Nutrition and created the Plant-Based Resource Academy.

Becoming a Better Version of One’s self

If it hadn’t been for my husband’s very loud “wake up call” and the decision to improve my lifestyle, I would have been facing what millions of other women my age face at this stage in life; disease, pain, reduced energy and fear of what I can no longer do because of how I feel.

The good news is that you can choose to change your lifestyle. I made the choice and am living a life that I never imagined possible. I’m a much better version of myself.

Sure there’s a boatload of info that you can find online about switching to the WFPB lifestyle and if you like to research and are a “go-it-alone” kind of person then you’ll find a way to make the switch.
