In 2013, our Thanksgiving took an unexpected turn as we embraced a plant-based lifestyle, bidding farewell to the Standard American Diet. Today, I’m sharing a bit of our journey and some mouthwatering plant-based Thanksgiving recipes to help navigating Thanksgiving as a Plant-Based eater.
Faced with the challenge of creating a Thanksgiving feast without compromising our new lifestyle, I scoured the internet for the perfect vegan|plant-based menu. The result? An adventurous meal that, to put it mildly, didn’t quite hit the mark. Our taste-test resembled a panel of food critics with unanimous agreement: the meal sucked!
Missing the Traditional Tastes and Traditions
Looking back, we realized it was a blend of departing from traditional tastes and the limited availability of plant-based recipes. This coupled with the need for allergy-friendly options made it challenging. But fear not! Over the years, we’ve refined our plant-based Thanksgiving with a focus on everyone’s favorites: The side dishes!
To make your Thanksgiving stress-free and delicious, I’ve created “The Plant-Based Eaters Guide to Thanksgiving Sides.” A free download with ten family-favorite recipes. These recipes helped to restore our beloved favorite Thanksgiving side dishes. They left the memories of our first plant-based Thanksgiving in the rear view mirror.
The Plant-Based Eaters Guide To Thanksgiving Sides
The menu includes creamy mashed potatoes, maple mashed sweet potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and two types of pies: pumpkin and caramel apple.
These recipes appeal to both carnivores and plant-based enthusiasts, ensuring a delightful Thanksgiving experience without the struggles some plant-based eaters face.
By creating plant-based side dishes, you’re ready to load up on good food and won’t miss the turkey (but you may choose to take your own meat holiday – no judgment!).
Everyone’s journey is unique, and there are options that align with where you are in your plant-based adventure. As Thanksgiving approaches, reflect on the things you’re thankful for. I’m grateful for a way of eating that’s tasty, enjoyable, and provides a healthy foundation for life’s epic moments. I wish the same for you.
